If you’re wondering how to get rebooked as a speaker, the answer is simple: be easy to work with
Recently a friend of mine booked a Speaker…His talk went well, But they’ll NEVER book him again. Here’s why…
Quite simply…
❌ He was difficult to work with!!
I remember Maria Franzoni giving me this advice a few years ago…
Bureaus and clients have a lot of choice – If you want to be a busy speaker, you MUST be easy to work with! That’s a non negotiable.
BOOK BEN
If you are new to speaking, here are 5 tips to making sure you’re easy to work with:
1️⃣ Be positive at all times: Bookers have enough on their plate, so being postive throughout is a welcome relief.
2️⃣ Prompt in paperwork and replies: Stay on top of your admin. No one likes to chase, especially busy bookers. If you can’t keep on top of it, get a manager or PA.
3️⃣ Insist on a “pre booking” call: It baffles me when I hear that some speakers refuse to do this. – This really helps the client to relax about make a stress free decision. It also helps you to start building rapport.
4️⃣ Clear requirements: Surprises are great, but not in event logistics. Be upfront about your needs to avoid last-minute scrambles.
5️⃣ Get there early: The client and bureau can relax when they know you’re on site and no danger of being late.
Remember, a happy event booker often means repeat business and glowing recommendations.
