Q: How does Ben typically host an awards night?
A: Every event is different, but here’s a common format:
Welcome/Opener (10 mins) – interactive magic to kick things off with energy and laughter. Something Different.
Followed by, after dinner magic (10–20 mins), then host the awards.
Q: What magic will Ben perform?
A: It depends on the event, but all of Ben’s material must tick four boxes: Amazing. Funny. Interactive. Inoffensive.
Expect magic that involves the entire audience, mind-reading moments, one-handed Rubik’s Cube solves, impossible predictions, drink productions, and more. Every routine is designed to impress without making anyone uncomfortable.
Q: Will Ben do a prep call and attend a rehearsal?
A: Yes and it’s strongly encouraged. A pre-event call is essential to run through the running order, tone, and logistics to ensure everything flows smoothly on the night. Ben will also attend a tech rehearsal to work with your AV team and ensure both crew and client are confident before showtime.
Q: Does Ben need an autocue?
A: Not at all. Autocue is a “nice to have,” but Ben is more than comfortable hosting with a printed script. If you’re looking to save budget, this is one area you can easily skip without worry.
