I had the pleasure of hosting the Middle Eastern Banking Awards in Dubai, and what a fantastic few days.
Taking place in the stunning Al Habtoor Palace – From the moment I stepped into the venue, I was completely blown away. The location, the elegant interiors, and the energy in the room set the perfect stage for an unforgettable evening.
A huge shout-out to Euromoney for putting together such a fantastic event. They know this industry so well and always put on seamless events.
What’s it like hosting an awards in Dubai?
Well, the big difference is that audiences don’t stay the entire night. It’s really common for tables to leave during the middle of the meal/awards. As a host, it’s strange to see it empty, but something that I was briefed about beforehand.
Most interestingly, these audiences don’t often see a talking magic act. I was slightly nervous as to how they would react to the interactive style…but they really enjoyed it (even if I do say so myself) – It really highlights that magic and positive energy do transcend cultures and languages.
Dubai had always been on my bucket list for performing, and it didn’t disappoint.
